К столетию YMCA-Press в Париже приглашаем вас открыть для себя историю истоков издательства и его деятельности в межвоенный период — историю встреч и взаимодействия американцев, европейцев и эмигрантов из бывшей Российской империи, а затем СССР, стоявших у его истоков. Выставка раскрывает историю YMCA-Press как часть широкого круга гуманитарных, интеллектуальных и культурных инициатив, рожденных Первой мировой войной, революцией 1917 года, опытом эмиграции, а также христианскими и социальными поисками первой половины XX века. Aux Beaux-Arts dans le cadre des « portraits »
Le pianiste Pavel Kolesnikov, basé à Londres, est un véritable sculpteur : en puisant dans un répertoire à l’état brut, il façonne avec soin sa propre vision. Ce lauréat de nombreux prix trace son chemin du baroque ancien à la musique contemporaine, avec une prédilection pour les programmes narratifs. Il fera briller les Nocturnes de Chopin (7 Nov.’26) lors d’un récital, donnera via à une soirée de concert (8 Mai’27) et se produira en tant que soliste avec le Belgian National Orchestra (26 Fevr.’27).
Le programme précis du récital de Pavel Kolesnikov consacré aux Nocturnes de Chopin à Bozar le 7 novembre 2026 n'est pas encore disponible publiquement.
Cependant, la saison 2026-2027 de Bozar indique clairement que ce récital sera entièrement dédié aux Nocturnes de Chopin.

Frédéric Chopin’s most defining works might well be the 21 Nocturnes he composed between 1827 and 1846. Chopin took this genre, introduced by the Irish composer John Field, to unparallelled heights. In these contemplative piano pieces inspired by the nocturnal poetry of Novalis and Tieck, Chopin explores the night without words. Beneath a sweetly flowing melodic line in the right hand, the left hand unfurls a refined and technically challenging accompaniment. With his delicate touch and subtle musicality, our portrait artist Pavel Kolesnikov draws the night from a grand piano as no other pianist can.

"Sharing a piano with four hands presupposes thinking together, breathing together. It’s a form of closeness, but on an exceptional level. You can’t reach that level without being incredibly close," says Samson Tsoy. He and our portrait artist Pavel Kolesnikov met in 2007 at the Moscow Conservatory, and they have been inseparable ever since, both on and off stage. As the opening act of the Stravinsky Festival, they perform a unique four-hand version of the Symphony of Psalms, an orchestral composition that premiered in 1930 at the Palais des Beaux-Arts. The duo pairs this neoclassical gem with Sergei Rachmaninoff’s rousing Symphonic Dances.

Symphonie fantastique
Love as a driving force — and as a dangerous one: this is the central theme of this Friday Symphony. After a gentle, dreamlike lament by Paul Dukas, in homage to Debussy's genius, Camille Saint-Saëns’ Second Piano Concerto takes centre stage. Brilliant, sharp and playfully free, it lets the piano sparkle between virtuosity and irony. Pavel Kolesnikov, Bozar artist in residence, shines in this work of elegant nervous energy and refined spontaneity. The evening then plunges into the visionary world of Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique. A confessional and incendiary work, born from the composer’s all-consuming passion for actress Harriet Smithson, it charts a descent from romantic dream to obsession, hallucination and nightmare. The famous “idée fixe” motif runs through every movement, sweeping the listener from glittering ballrooms to lonely fields, from the march to the scaffold to a dizzying witches’ sabbath. Under the assured direction of Michael Schønwandt, the symphony emerges in all its true power: radical, uncompromising and still dangerously alive.

Bozar ouvre la saison 2026-2027 sous le titre « Reassembling »
Le nouveau format Resonant Rooms fait son entrée à Bozar la saison prochaine. Pendant Resonant Rooms, vous passez toute la soirée à circuler de salle en salle. Le pianiste virtuose Pavel Kolesnikov (8 Mai ’27), le percussionniste Eric Thielemans (16 Fevr.’27) et le duo Merope (24 Avr.’27) y invitent chacun·e des ami·es artistes et montent également sur scène. Avec un seul ticket, vous pouvez assister jusqu’à cinq concerts : entre Terarken, le Studio et la Salle M, vous découvrirez une grande diversité de musiques au fil de la soirée.
Dans le cadre des « portraits », les artistes phares de cette saison sont la compositrice Anna Thorvaldsdottir, la soprano Jeanine De Bique, le pianiste Pavel Kolesnikov et la pionnière de la musique électronique Jlin.
Pavel Kolesnikov est un pianiste russe de renommée internationale, né en Sibérie en 1989 et basé à Londres, reconnu pour sa technique infaillible, sa sensibilité introspective et sa maîtrise nuancée du clavier.
Lors de sa performance prévue le 8 mai 2027, il confirmera sa réputation d'artiste majeur de sa génération, caractérisée par :
Une virtuosité sous-estimée : Son jeu allie une dextérité exceptionnelle à une finesse et une légèreté rares, évitant la démonstration gratuite au profit d'une musicalité profonde.
Un répertoire éclectique : Il est célèbre pour ses interprétations de Chopin, Schubert, Beethoven et Bach (notamment les Variations Goldberg), ainsi que pour ses collaborations en duo avec le pianiste Samson Tsoy.
Une reconnaissance critique : Lauréat du prix Honens en 2012 et ancien New Generation Artist de la BBC, il est salué par la presse pour sa capacité à créer des mondes sonores immersifs et à renouveler l'interprétation des classiques.

During Resonant Rooms, you move from room to room as part of an artist-curated evening. Our portrait artist Pavel Kolesnikov picks up the reins on 8 May. Not only does he take his place at the piano, but he is also joined by guest artists moving between music, poetry and visual art. In Celestial Navigation, for example, he pays tribute to the artist Joseph Cornell, inspired by his “warm, mysterious and cheerful” visual language. Pavel also explores French Baroque music, Debussy’s Clair de lune and Schubert’s Impromptus. Architect Sophie Hicks creates compelling settings for the three spaces: Hall M, Terarken and Studio. Finally, Martin Crimp adds a literary dimension to the concerts.
